Upgrades & Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and long-term reliability of your Nodia device, regular maintenance and occasional upgrades are essential. This guide covers best practices for firmware updates, hardware expandability, preventive care, and system diagnostics.
Firmware Updates
All Nodia devices receive over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates for enhanced performance, compatibility, and security.
Automatic Updates Devices check for updates daily during off-peak hours (2:00–4:00 AM local time).
Custom Schedule You can adjust the update window under Dashboard → Device Settings → Firmware Update Schedule.
Hardware Expandability
Depending on the device model, you can upgrade memory and storage to support heavier workloads or future applications.
Nodia Core
Storage: Replaceable eMMC module (requires authorized service center)
Nodia Edge
Memory: Expandable up to 16 GB depending on configuration
Storage: Add NVMe SSDs via internal M.2 slot for local model caching or high I/O tasks
Nodia Atlas
Memory: Supports up to 32–64 GB, depending on configuration
Storage: Multiple NVMe drives can be installed to handle large-scale data or model pipelines
Access for Edge and Atlas upgrades is available via a bottom-mounted service panel.
Preventive Cleaning
Maintain airflow and thermal performance through periodic physical care:
Nodia Core (Passive Cooling)
Wipe air-exchange grilles with a dry cloth once per month
Nodia Edge / Atlas (Active Cooling)
Clean or replace fan filters every 3 months
For Atlas:
Inspect the liquid-cooling loop every 6 months
Top up coolant if levels fall below minimum indicators
System Diagnostics & Monitoring
The Nodia Dashboard provides built-in tools to ensure your node stays healthy:
Device Diagnostics Run system tests on CPU, GPU, memory, and network via Dashboard → Device Diagnostics
Proactive Alerts Set thresholds for temperature, latency, or memory pressure. Receive real-time email or SMS alerts if issues are detected.
Performance Audits Optional: Schedule quarterly remote diagnostics with the Nodia support team to audit long-term system behavior and uptime patterns.
