FAQ

What is Nodia?

Nodia is a decentralized AI compute network built on Solana. By running a Core, Edge, or Atlas device, you contribute idle compute power to process AI workloads—such as inference, training, and video rendering—and earn NODIA tokens in return.

How does Nodia differ from traditional cloud providers?
  • Decentralized Mesh: No single data center; tasks run on thousands of edge devices worldwide.

  • Proof-of-Compute: Zero-knowledge (zk-SNARK) proofs verify every computation without exposing data.

  • Passive Income: Operators earn token rewards immediately on-chain.

  • Lower Latency: Edge proximity cuts round-trip times by up to 80%.

Who should run a Nodia device?
  • Tech Enthusiasts who want to monetize spare hardware.

  • Enterprises seeking decentralized edge compute for real-time analytics.

  • Researchers needing parallel GPU clusters for model training.

  • Smart Cities and IoT integrators requiring local AI inference with privacy guarantees.

How do I install and register my device?
  1. Unbox & Connect: Plug in power and Ethernet (or configure Wi-Fi post-boot).

  2. Authenticate: Log in at dashboard.nodia.io with your Phantom Wallet.

  3. Add Device: Navigate to Devices → Add Device, scan the QR code or enter the serial number, then approve the on-chain activation transaction.

  4. Go Live: Confirm your node status is Live and submit a test workload.

My device isn’t connecting—what should I check?
  • Verify power and network cables.

  • Ensure your router’s DHCP server is active (or set a static IP under Device Settings → Network).

  • Confirm no firewall blocks outbound ports 80, 443, and gRPC 50051.

  • Reboot the device and check LED status: solid blue indicates network readiness.

How do I stake NODIA tokens?

Navigate to Staking → Stake Tokens, enter the amount (minimum 45,000 NODIA), and confirm the transaction. Your stake activates the corresponding reward and fee-discount tier immediately upon confirmation.

Can node operators access my raw data?

No. Operators receive only encrypted shards and proofs. Raw data and model parameters stay encrypted on the device and in your storage of choice (IPFS, Arweave).

How do I update device firmware securely?
  • Automatic Updates: Delivered over-the-air (OTA), signed by Nodia’s root CA, within your maintenance window (default 2–4 AM local).

  • Manual Updates: Can be triggered under Device Settings → Firmware Update; always verify the digital signature before installation.
